Running a competitive 6A band is expensive!! Band Booster fundraising supplements the budget alloted to the Band from DSISD in an effort to keep individual family costs as low as possible. Band Booster fundraising does everything from helping pay for marching show design, props, and staff to purchasing the new Tiger Band semi-trailer that you'll see this year. Quite simply, the program cannot operate in its current form without our support!

Some of our fundraisers ask families to spend their time helping us earn money from outside of the band family. In September, we will host a percussion contest called Thunder in the Hills. In January, we will host a Winter Guard competition called Pageantry in the Springs. In December, we will hold our annual march-a-thon (holiday themed this year!). Throughout the fall football season, we run the concession stand at all home football games.

Other fundraisers are more passive, and ask for a financial commitment from families. You'll see "Spirit Nights" at local establishments and give-back purchase options throughout the year (see the picture of some of our band and guard kids with Kendra Scott, above!)

HEB GIFT CARDS

Purchasing HEB/Central Market gift cards each month is an easy way for you, your family, and friends to support the band/color guard without spending any additional out-of-pocket money. You simply purchase gift cards at their face value ($20, $50 and $100 increments) and HEB donates a percentage of the card value to the Dripping Springs Band Boosters (DSBB). Gift cards can be used on all food, gas, pharmacy, cafeteria, photo purchases – anything you usually write a check for at HEB or Central Market! The Boosters sell HEB Cards through Neighborhood Contacts and by mail order. Additionally, cards are available at many band events.

CORPORATE PAYROLL AND MATCHING GIFTS

Many Austin-area companies offer payroll deduction programs for charitable contributions. Some will also match employee (or spouse/family) contributions, whether in the form of dollars given or volunteer hours donated. Although specific guidelines for donations vary between companies, we encourage all band parents, relatives, and friends to investigate and use employer payroll deduction and/or matching gift programs for the benefit of the Dripping Springs band programs.

The Band Booster organization is a 501(c)(3) non-profit. If you need more specific information from us in order to assist a company in adding us to their payroll deduction program, annual giving program, or matching gift program, please contact our Treasurer, Kristi, at treasurer@dsbandboosters.org.
